No delete user option and other super bad problems
Ok...my computer took a nose dive (after doing 5 backflips and a triple sow cow) into the 7th layer of hell today.
Needless to say, I deleted my C: partition, the only one on my computer. Reinstalled windows XP home. Been through this process many times, NEVER had a problem.
So when it comes time for windows to guide you through setting up your computer after installing XP, my computer freezes when I click the next arrow. Reboot, and I get stuck at the blue Welcome screen. No login option.
So I delete and reinstall 3 more times. Nothing working there. So here comes safe mode.
Safe mode boots up. I don't even know where to begin, so I get on the net and do some research and catch a glance at something along the lines of a 2nd user account being created...without anyone actually creating it. So I go to log off, and sure enough, there's Administrator, and Owner. OWNER?!?! WHO THE HECK IS OWNER?! I didn't create him/her/it! Perhaps this is the root of my issues?
So I get back onto my admin account, and go to user accounts because I know I could delete Owner there. Wait a min...NO DELETE OPTION?! No where! I checked in Administrative Tools in the control panel, and nothing there at all.
I'm lost. Am I missing a step here? I did the control-alt-delete twice real quick in the login thing and got into admin there, too. Nothing works. No delete user options ANYWHERE.
Please help me. I want my computer back!!!
EDIT: I did fixboot and fixmbr.
Also, the cause of the problem was when I executed the setup program for an add-on I downloaded for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. The program works fine for everyone else, but when I double clicked the setup icon, TONS of error messages popped up saying that certain files couldn't be found in the windows directory. I don't have the exact messages, sorry.
