Unhappy Problem saving macro enabled Excel files

I have created an excel XP file that contains VB macros. The file was created on a windows 2000 pc. There is no problem with the file when saving to any Windows 2000 pc. However when trying to save to a windows XP pc the message "file not saved" appears.

If, when opening the file, macros are disabled, the problem goes away.
When reopening this previously macro-disabled file but this time enabling macros, it saves one time but on any subsequent saves the problem occurs.

The obvious solution is to disable macros, but is there any alternative? Is there something in windows XP that I can do to ?

Thanks in advance and apols if this is not the right forum.

Tools -> Macro -> Security -> switch to Medium -> OK.

If it doesn’t help, recreate the document on XP station (or remove macros from the original and copy it to XP), and then add the macro by inserting a new Macro and copying and pasting text (code) from the original.

Good Luck!

Many Thanks for the replies. I have found one macro that after disabling the file then seems to save correctly. However when this is tried on someone else's (XP) PC problems occur: When the file is opened the error message "Error in Loading DLL" appears, and the file doesn't save.

So I guess the 2 PC's must be set up differently, but can anyone offer a clue as to where to look for differences?

Cheers.
