WinXp SP2 Networked with Win98SE
Hi.
I have a peer-to-peer network with 8 computers, all running Win98SE, except for one computer running WinXP with SP2. I'm just using TCP/IP for a protocol. I had to turn off the firewall in WinXP to share files back and forth, and everything seems to work fine. The only problem is, with the WinXP computer, whenever I go to click on a shared folder on a Win98 computer I have to type in the password....every time....for every shared folder...WinXP won't remember the password, and there is no checkbox to remember it. With the Win98 computers, I only had to type the folder passwords in once and they remember them all permanently.
I read an article from Microsoft that vaguely explained how WinXP on a peer-to-peer network will only remember the LAST password the user entered and forget the rest. How can I overcome this? Is there a utility I can use? HELP!
