DirectX 9 Not Installing

Hello. I am having a problem installing Direct X 9. I have the beta version, and it's causing problems, so I downloaded the new version from C-net and Microsoft. I tried the web setup and the redistributer versions.

NOTHING is installing. It goes through the motions, but when it is copying a file, it says: This program has not been verified by Windows Logo, and will not be installed.

This is a program FROM Microsoft! What is going on?

Thank you.

You could try a direct x uninstall utillity. These sometimes work. Found one or two that worked in the past. Try a google search for the uninstaller. Then install dx9. I tried this with a beta of dx7 and it worked. I no longer use beta one reason is this very problem.
Hope this works for you.

Here is one uninstaller. You'll need your XP CD to use it. It will restore your DX9 to DX8.1. I haven't used it, so I don't know how well it works.

help for you

Somewhere down the line you probably disabled Crypotographic services under ADMIN. You just need ot turn it back on. Go to

START
SETTINGS
CONTROL PANEL
ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS
SERVICES
FIND (CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICES)
RIGHT CLICK IT and go to PROPERTIES
SET IT FROM DISABLED TO AUTOMATIC
CLICK APPLY
HIGHLIGHT CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICES
THEN (START) THE SERVICE

Hope that Helps

JEFF
