Hibernate Problem

Anyone can help me????
I am using WindowsXP service pack 2.But my computer can't use hibernate function.When I used hibernate to shutdown my computer,then I turned on it
the screen displays:"The last attempt to restart the system from it previous location failed.Attempt to restart again?
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu
Continue with system restart."
I have scanned virus and reinstalled Windows XP.But I could not use Hibernate.My friend also use Windows XP service pack 2 and he can use hibernate.I can't understand.
Please,help me!

Put your Windows XP CD into a CD-ROM drive. Cancel the autorun that will appear.

Go to Start->Run and type in cmd. In the command window that shows, type in:

sfc /scannow

Once this is done, try to use hibernate again.
