Talking Sdd Boot

My New PC has a card reader for many type of card e.g. SDD MMC CF etc. Can any computer buffs out there inform me how I can format an SDD card so I can use it to boot from. I appear to have a boot from card reader in my CMOS but am unable to make a system SDD.

At it's simplest level, if your BIOS is set to boot from a memory card reader, just create a bootable floppy from within windows, then copy all the floppy files to a memory card, that card should then be bootable. Mind you, quite how you would go about writing files to the card I have no idea, unless the card reader can also write.

Thanks for your reply Pip22 I've already tried this, knowing it wouldn't work - because if you simply copy system files it does not actually create a boot sector. Any other ideas welcome.

Just to pull this to the front again:-

Does anyone know how to create a boot sector disk for a 64mb SDD card, I know i can boot from the card reader (I get this option by pressing F8 and choosing the card reader) but I'm still unable to make it in to a boot disk. I have no problem writing to the disk in XP by the way.

I found out a problem to my own question (eventually) you can boot from a SD CF and other types of card. I found the programs on my on computer when I was bored one evening - DOH!

If anyone is interested drop me a personal.
