something renamed my desktop shortcuts...

last wednesday something strange began to happen with my girlfriend's computer: all the desktop shortcuts got renamed to "bnn (x)", being "x" some random number (eg: "bnn (1)", "bnn (23)", etc.).

the internet dialer also opens about every five minutes.

looked like some kind of virus, but i ran norton on the computer and found nothing.

the computer info:

Windows XP Service Pack 1 in Brazilian Portuguese
Norton Internet Security 2004 w/ latest update



any suggestions?

If your dialer open up every five minutes then that means you system has been hi-jacked by "Dialer" pest:
