Need help Getting toolbars to stay
I'm working on a corporate desktop for my office (a network based web page loading via active desktop), but I've hit a problem I don't know how to solve:
One of the file types I link to from this page is Excel files (link set to open in a new window). The problem is that when the new window pops up - using the integrated Excel / browser inferface - by default the Formatting and Standard toolbars are not shown (which are needed so people can edit the documents easily). The problem is that although these bars can be turned on from the View menu - when the window is closed, and the same (or another document) is opened again - the toolbar settings are not retained, and you have to re-show the bars all over again - very annoying.
Does anybody know how to get Windows (it does this on both 2K and XP) to remember what toolbars are selected - so you don't have to re-enable them EVERY time you open a link.....it very annoying (and confusing for some people) to have to re-enable the toolbar every time a document is opened.
