Angry Drivers problem

Hey Everyone...

I tried to re-install CD Direct on my computer which I had when I was using windows 98'...The problem is now that it wont work on the Xp that I upgraded to and Prevents over drivers from working properly...

I looked for it in my system and I found that there is no driver to "roll back" (maybe the coding is too old to be detected by XP?) so I deleted all its folders and hoped that would do it...but nope, it is still there...preventing over drivers from loading and making my computer unstable...

I'm so frustrated and have searched for ways to delete this from my computer...but have had no luck (Aarggh!) so I wonder if any of you helpful guys could give me a few suggestions

Thanks in advance...

By using Direct cd, does this mean your using easy cd creator aswell?

You say you deleted the folders....didn't use Uninstall?
By just deleting the folders it won't get rid of it, as there is all kinds of sh*t in places like the registry.

Have you tried adaptec website & downloaded the newest updates & stuff??? they should install over the top of the earlier version

Also you could try using Regcleaner to try to identify & delete any registry settings for Direct cd

Other than that.....

Norris is right. If you are using ECDC platinum, you need to install a patch from the website to make it compatible with XP. I would completely uninstall the program and start from scratch if I were you. Btw, direct cd does conflict a bit even with the update but you can live with it.

Hmmm... do a system restore to when the prog was still there, then uninstall it normally and follow the previous instructions.

I just got over ECDC 5 problems, and one of their tech guys said to uninstall, and gave sent an e- mail with explicit uninstall instructions which point you at reg entries, shared folders, and so forth. If anyone wants a copy of this e-mail, send me an E-mail, and I will forward it. virus free of course.
