Question Rubbish on my desktop

I was removing unwanted and unplayable film clips from my computer, by clicking and dragging them "en masse" to the recycle bin. Four however dropped on to my desktop and now resist any attempt to remove them, all I get is an error message - "Cannot remove (file name) it is being used by another person or programme please close these programmes and try again" as no programmes are running and I am the only user on this pooter this is not possible. I have scanned the files for viruses and found nothing. I think they are corrupted junk -but they have to go! please help.

Go to start->run, type command and press enter, when the prompt comesup, Press cntrl-alt-del and bring up the taskmanager, kill explorer.exe in the process lists.

Go back to the prompt window, and navigate to you desktop, that is Documents and Settings\[user]\Desktop and delete from there. when your done go back to the taskmanager and select run new task and type in explorer.exe and run.

Hope this helps.

Smile

Thanks! However I managed a simpler fix by pressing f8 on reboot and running in safe mode I was then able to delete the files.
