Deleted administrator account...

PLEASE HELP! I think I've deleted my administrator's account (a while ago actually). I am trying to download real player to watch a video for a class and when it tries to download, it says that I do not have system privileges to download. This made me realize that I needed to seitch to the administrator's account, but upon logon, there is only my user account...nothing else to choose. Please let me know if you know how to restore the admin account. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The admin account is always available. You cannot delete all administrator accounts.

When you get to the welcome screen, press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice and the old Windows 9x style logon box should appear.

In the user name, type in "Administrator" (not just Admin) and then your admin password. You can also try a blank password if you don't remember setting one.


If you do manage to get into the admin account, make sure that you set a password for it if you haven't done so already. An un-password-ed admin account is like leaving your house unlocked without any security system.
