My computer error

Hey all
Well my problem starts here i have alot of software in my harddrive, well it is halfed with windows and my programs i had alot of stuff in it such as songs, albums, music videos, apps, movies and other software. I LANed up with a friend of mine and he put some move movies and music and apps on it was working fine till about 2 days after everytime i open the folder with everything in affter about 5 seconds i get a error report saying
"Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for inconvenience" then it says "please tell microsoft about this problem. There are then 2 options
"Send error report" and "Don't send" when i click any of them it just close "my computer"
Anyone got any ideas how to stop causing this. My harddrive isnt full yet so i dont think that is the problem. i also have done a Norton Virus Scan and it found something called bloodhoud or something along them lines but my computer rebboted and when i did it again it didnt find anythin also done a Ad-aware scan and cleaned everything out but still get the problem
Thanx alot
Liam

Had a look and bloodhound is not a virus it's part of norton and can sometimes give false readings. Have a look at this thread and use one of the free online virus scanners, they may give the right name for the virus then go to norton to get a removal tool. One thing TURN OFF SYSTEM RESTORE before running a virus scan these restore points are protected by windows and can't be scanned.

Hope this helps.

Does this happen during safe mode as well? When you first start your computer, hold F8 before you see the Windows XP boot screen. If the problem doesn't exist there, then it's something that's loading with Windows that is causing your problem.

If it happens even in safe mode, put your Windows XP CD in the CD-ROM drive and cancel any autoplay that pops up. Go to Start->Run and type in sfc /scannow. Let that run and see if things improve after it's done and you reboot.
