Printing Problem with Tasks

I have a Dell computer operating Microsoft XP Professional and using an HP deskjet 5650 printer. I use Works Suite 2003. Whenever I try to print a recipe (using the Task feature) a message pops up that states:

"The printer drive is missing or not valid. Run the windows setup program to install the printer software. "

Even after reinstalling the printer and microsoft suite several times, the same situation exists. No other feature of the microsoft tasks is affected, but unfortunately, a printed copy of my recipes is what I most need. I've tried e-mailing the completed recipe and printing from there, however that didn't print either. Does anyone have any clue what the problem here might be?
