Nothing on the screen at all? I would first confirm that the monitor is switched on. Use a different and known working monitor to confirm before looking elsewhere.

i dont think the problem would be the cpu. did u try to make sure the graphics card is plugged in correctly? maybe it popped out of its slot. does the compuer make any beeps at startup? do you think it actually loads win xp, ie can you here the hard drive working for a while or can you even hear the windows statup sound?

if there is 'no click' as you say then id say definitly check to make sure the graphic card is plugged in. if it has a fan leave the side of the computer open when you turn it on and see id power is getting to the card.

another thing is that if this was the case most monitors would turn on and show a message on the screen about not connected, or some symbol moving around, so try unplugging the monitor from the pc but leave the power connected and make sure it is turned on and see if the symbol/message comes up.

hi
ok i sort of solved the problem i opened up the tower made sure everything was in the sockets properly gave it a good clean out was very dusty i also opened up the power supply that was also very dust cleaned that put it all back together and at first nothing then it just came on all by itself the keyboard seemed not to b working properly and the mouse but then the mouse got power but still the keyboard wouldnt type some letters and all was well with another keyboard my daughter was happy once again then this morning while she was playing music on the pc poof it went off again so i switched the power cable and nothing but the fan was working no lights nothing so i switched the power cable back and yes the pc came on works fine once again so my question is could it b the power cable or the power supply maybe oh and 1 more point just b4 the pc booted up the final windows screen there was a lot of beeps all at once hats never happened before any info much appreciated thx.
