First, in the My Documents folder, click on View then on Details. Now you'll have column headings...Name, Size, Type, Date Modified are the defaults (I think).
Right click anywhere on the column headings and left click on Date Created. Once the Date Created column is added (and any other added or taken out that you like...click on "More" at the bottom of that menu for all your options), click on View once again, point at Arrange Icons by and left click on Created...or whichever column you want it to sort by.
