Uninstall Window XP Professional Service Pack 2

Hi,

Just got a new Dell Inspiron 6000 w/windows xp professional service pack 2. I have had nothing but problems. Received blue screens, error messages, etc. I was able to configure the notebook back to when originally received.

Now, I want to get windows xp service pack 2 off my computer and install service pack 1, I have it from another computer I own.

How do I go about doing this - I don't want 2 operating systems on my computer.

Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs/look at the original listing [not the "Add/Remove Windows Components" listing] for "Windows XP Service Pack 2". If it is there, you can remove it like any other program. I seriously doubt SP2 is the problem since I installed it upon the initial release and do not experience the problems you mention.

Thanks for the information. I will give that a try. SBC Yahoo DSL is not compatible, internal work software is not compatible.
When I tried to install both is when to problems started to happen. Tech support from all 3 (dell included) said these software applications were not compatible w/the new service pack.

Thanks

Hope you work out the situation to suit you. You may not need the SBC Yahoo software at all, I am on Alltel DSL and do not use any of their software to connect.
What internal work software? What happened to writers/providers of both of these software programs? SP2 was not a secret to software developers long before it was released to the public. I use the web version of Yahoo Mail, at times, and it works just fine with Internet Explorer 6.
