windows XP task mon problem

I have been experiencing this problem lately, whenever I press ctrl+alt+del the task mon wont show up. Is there a remedy for this? Please help. Thanks

You can still access Task Manager by right-clicking (in a clear area) on the taskbar and clicking on Task Manager.
