Networking Trouble - Please Help

I am using XP Home Edition on a network. The other computer has 2000 installed on it. Both computers are in the same work group and are networked. The 2000 computer can see all of the XP computers shares.
The problem is that if I cant look at any computers in the work group on the XP computer. The XP computer can't even see itself when you click "View Workgroup Computers". It just makes a "Ping" error noise.
I have even gone to the trouble of making a small avi movie to demonstrate this. It can be found at http://www.e-cogen.com/network.avi
It is less than 500kb so please take a look at it.

My question is basically how can i fix the problem so that the XP computer can see the 2000 computer?

damn... i tried to get someone else to look at it from another computer and they couldnt see the video either.
i will try and convert it to an mpg file so that you can all see it.
