Windows acting funny....

My windows started acting really funny, the GUI keeps on messing up. For example, if I open up a folder, any folder, it would be really weird, the graphics will distort disappear, even though the object is still there. This happened once before, but it went away for a while, but now its back. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
