SP2 causind a display problem...

Hi all,

I'm running XP Pro and have been using a 1200x1600 resolution, because I do a lot of graphics work, including 3D modeling and video editing and I require a lot of screen space. Last night Windows Update installed SP2 and, upon reboot, I found my computer set for 1200x1600, but displaying at 1280x1024 (or thereabouts) with the excess spilling off the screen. If I want to see something, I have to move my mouse in that direction and the screen pans over. I know that my hardware (ATI All-In-Wonder and a 20" MAG Flat CRT monitor) are capable of displaying 1200x1600, because there was no problem with it at all before last night.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Shawn.

Hi ... I would suggest try playing around with your screen refresh rate ... start >> control panel >> display >> settings tab >> advanced >> and look for monitor screen refresh rate

I'm currently set at 60hz and adjusting to anything else either does nothing at all or worsens the problem. Any other ideas?

In Device Manager, find your GFX hardware (card and monitor) and see if you can Roll back the drivers or re-install the originals.

Look on the Website of your hardware's manufacturer for information concerning XPSP2 and for updates to the bios/drivers.
