Question Keystroke to abort the XP boot process?

I'm in a bit of a tizzy. A hard drive is encrypted with DCPP, bootauth obviously installed. The registry is kablooey, so it gets to where it needs to boot csrss.exe and crashes(no, it's not a virus it's called user error ).... SO, I am able to bypass the bootauth with no problems, since I obviously know both passwords. My question is just as the title assumes, is there a way I can stop the boot process cold in its tracks so I can copy some much needed files off the hard drive........or am I just screwed? I can't rollback, already tried. bah. thanks peeps.

If you have an XP install cd, you can boot from it. Choose the Repair option, which will drop you to a pseudo command line after an attempt to logon to your system. Problem will be that DCPP is not on the cd and I am not familiar enough with that product to help.
I know that DCPP can create a rescue disk. But I'm guessing you didn't get to that part yet.. The other part of the question is can you stop the boot.. Try F8 key right after the bios display, and probably just after the DCPP authentication. This should bring up the Options list. If you have a recovery console installed you can drop to the pseduo command prompt there.
You could also email securStar and they may be able to provide a bootable cd image so you can at least read files from the hd.

Hope this helps
