Malika, there's not really an awful lot to go on here.

I take it you bought a new computer that was pre-installed with XP (and you probably don't have a cd)?

Can you explain exactly what it is you want to do?

Help us to help you...

Malikah, accessing the "setup files" willy-nilly will undoubtedly result in problems.

I don't want you to make your computer unusable, which would be the likely outcome.

Please explain what you are trying to do.

If you are having a problem with windows or a windows program, please tell us what.

Are you sure it's System Recovery and not System Restore?

System restore will restoe your computer to the same state it was in when the restore point was set. So, logically, any files which were there at that time should be restored.

What are the files? Can you find them in My Computer? If so, you could probably delete them easily enough, but unless you are sure they're not important, I wouldn't recommend it.

You are, I think, correct in your advice. Dell, for instance, sticks such items as their branding flash screen plus [I am told] items essential for startup in a hidden partition. The original inquirer might be able to see it and delete files from it with BingNG or Partition Magic; however, unless he knows exactly what all these files accomplish [very doubtful] just leave them alone.
