Question Two High speed connections?

I am on cable at home to connect to the internet using windows XP. This is on a laptop. At work we have a network that has high speed connections through a server. My question is can I just hook in and surf just like at home and not screw up any settings that are on my computer from the cable settings? I know that I can create a new connection with the network wizzard for cable and dial up but not sure with 2 high speed lines.

i think u will have to change the settings for the connection each time. since i assume u only have one lan port on ur laptop.

control panel: network connection: right click on connection: tcp:ip -> properties (might right click) : enter ip addy , subnet mask, and the server

If you company doesnt use a mask, or gateway, and specifys IPs automatically you shouldnt have a problem. If they do then you will need permissions, then you can just create a secondary connection for when you go to work.
