I am having a problem that hopefully someone can recommend a solution to....
I am running Windows XP Professional v2002 w/ Service Pack 1 on a AMD XP2200 1.8 chip with 512 meg DDR Ram.... the problem I am having is random reboots.... I have been given many different solutions to try, and am about at my wits end.... First, everyone was sure I had a chip overheating problem..... the motherboard (MSI KT4 Ultra) comes with monitoring software and it always says that the processor is running well within the temp norms... even under heavy use..... then someone said "Power supply, definately the power supply" so I just today installed a new 500 watt dual fan PS..... and 20 mins after setting everything up, BOOM, rebooted..... when it reboots, it bounces right back into XP with no error messages and I cant see where anything error-like is logged......
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.... if you need more info on the system, etc, I will gladly elaborate.....
BTW.... I originally ran win 98 but with the new MB, the random reboots were blamed on MB incompatibility with 98 so I formatted and installed XP...... that was my first "its this... its gotta be this" solution recommended by a friend....
thanks
