software wont run

install software and it seems all fine, click on icon (also tried .exe in installation folder)and it appears to load but then nothing happens, (steinberg cubase 3). borrowed from friend and it's all fine on his pc. any setting I might have which causes this to happen??

I'm sorry, I don't know this program, but you could try right clicking on the icon and choose Properties and the Compatibility tab.

Choose "Run this program in Windows 98 mode" and/or disable visual themes.

If your not sure what I mean, use the "Pragram Compatibility Wizard" in the Accessories menu.

that didnt seem to work, I've done all the compatibility tests and tried all possible combinations but that didnt work, its a new software too so should work fine on xp

You are dealing with music software manufactured by Steinberg. As such, go to their site [http://www.steinberg.net/listproduct...p?Langue_ID=7] and: first, check the system reqirements for the software version you have (I see Cubase SL3 plus Cubase SX3); second, ask your questions in their forum. You are in the wrong forum here.
