Unhappy Yet another sound problem...

I am getting no sound from my computer. No error message is shown during sound play. Speakers are all right in my computer and the volume is fair.

I have viewed my Control panel, checked that everything is right but the problem persists. Because I can't solve the problem by myself I decided to google for the answer and ended up here.

System specs:
Windows XP Home Edition
2462MB of RAM
216 GB of free disk space (232 GB total)

I believe it's a problem in my computer but I also might be wrong. This happened all of a sudden without any notice, after 5-6 months of use of the computer.

Any help appreciated.

Hello,

This sounds like maybe your sound card went out on you. If nothing has changed in your system and this all of a sudden started, it could very well be the sound card.

You can try and go to your control panel and under sound, perform a troubleshooting test for the sound. Make sure all speaker connections are tight. Make sure nothing is muted.

Hope this helps

Ok I found the solution to what happened.

I have my own headset so I switch the headset's input port with the speakers' port. It must have happeded so that instead of putting it back to center, I had put it into the record port. I unplugged all three and placed them back and the sounds come out as they should.

Of course, lol, I had set the sound configuration so that for the first 15 minutes all sound flangered too much but I set it back :P

It all works now Thanks for help.
