DDE problem with new updates

Hi,
i have a program that uses DDE services. After installing XP service pack 2 I enabled the two dde services and the clipbook. it has always worked fine.

But now i have this problem: When i log off and log on again, dde does not work. the services are labeled as 'started' and 'automatic', but the program fails to work. This is probably not the problem of the program because before installing the latest windows updates everything was working.
When i just restart the services my program works again. What can be wrong.

This problem occurs only when logging off and on again.
Another remarking thing is that after a couple of hours using the program, it gets very slow, which was also not the case before.

I hope someone can help me out with this one because it really disturbes our organisation..
