Desktop Icon Text Highlighted

I have a user whose desktop icon text is highlighted blue...

I am not sure how this happened...all I have to go on is the user was copying and pasting things and then a pop up appeared at which point the 'OK' button was clicked without reading the message...then the highlighted icons appeared...

Under normal circumstances...you can do the following...

-Right click My Computer
-Click 'Advanced' Tab
-Under Performance, click settings
-Make sure the 'Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop' has a check in the check box

However, this particular user's settings were set as stated above and the highlights are still there...

I do not know what could be doing this at this point...

Please help...

Thanks,

You didn't say what happens when you click it...

Is it an Icon or a web-item/link?

Desktop-properties -> Desktop (tab) -> Customise Desktop -> Web (tab)

Is it listed here?

If so, delete it.

I apologize for the lack of information and I thank you for responding...

What I should have told you is that every icon is effected...the text for every icon is highlighted blue...

the icons in question are regular desktop icons...everyone of them...

hope that helps...

To get the transparent Icon text again, you ALSO have to:

Right-Click Desktop.

Arrange Icons By -->

DESELECT "Lock Web Items on Desktop"

Hope this helps.

From what I can tell, there is no way to change this setting without the aid of a third-party program such as "12Ghosts Setcolor" (Goooooogled...)
