Installing Windows XP Home Edition

I tried to install Windows XP from Upgrade mode to upgrade from Windows 98 to Windows XP. I couldn't get the installation mode for upgrade and the only option I had was to select New Installation (Advanced). I got as far as converting my slave drive/D: drive to NTSF. I'm not sure my Windows 98 will be replaced with Windows XP as it said. Can I convert my boot drive/C: drive to NTSF and finish the installation process without a computer crash because my Windows 98 only uses my FAT32 drive? Am I on the right track? Please help....Thank You.

See, with this CD version of Windows Xp you can only install a fresh copy of Windows. If you want to update Win 98 to Xp, you will need to find other Xp CD with wich you can update. Other, if you install Xp od drive D: you will have both Windows, 98 and Xp.

Thank you guys for your response. I'm glad to hear it's not only me with the upgrade problem with Windows XP because I thought I was doing something wrong when I chose New Installation. I'll look into the link and see what's going on. Thank you....Bye.
