Can't change desktop background to picture from My Pictures

[Desktop Help!]

Hi,
I can't change my desktop from a blank screen to a picture from My Pictures. I've tried from My pictures and from the desktop tab in display properties to no avail. Could someone please help?

i dont really understand your problem however i can give you a solution.

take the picture that you want as your background picture and open it in Windows Picture and Fax viewer, and click set as background picture.

Right Click on Empty space on desktop/Properties/Desktop/Browse to your picture/ok
and it will become your desktop background.

To # 2, it didn't work. I still have the same blank screen.
To # 3, I can't even click on the browse button. Well, I can but nothing happens. Thanks for the suggestions though.

In Display Properties, go to the Desktop tab and click on the "Customize Desktop" button. Go to the Web tab and uncheck everything there, click OK.

If that doesn't work, the problem is due to spyware. If you haven't scanned for and removed spyware recently...like since the background problem started...some excellent free spyware removal tools are Ewido, Spybot, CCleaner and Ad-Aware

Yes, you seem to have a hijack spyware on your computer.

Note, that CCleaner is excellent, but some people remove needed files and it cleans all cookies so you may have to reenter data/passwords to get to use certain sites again. It's not a bad idea to do that periodically as it removes alot of crap, but back up your data first before any clean up.

Also, Windows Defender and Spyware Blaster run in the background. You use the others actively to scan.

Remember to update all. I don't like automatic updates because that loads stuff when you start up and that slows things down generally. So I periodically manually (before each use) check for updates.
