Note, that CCleaner is excellent, but some people remove needed files and it cleans all cookies so you may have to reenter data/passwords to get to use certain sites again. It's not a bad idea to do that periodically as it removes alot of crap, but back up your data first before any clean up.
Also, Windows Defender and Spyware Blaster run in the background. You use the others actively to scan.
Remember to update all. I don't like automatic updates because that loads stuff when you start up and that slows things down generally. So I periodically manually (before each use) check for updates.
