Can't Login; Auto logging off.

I can't logon. Every time I click on the logon button it starts to log me on for about 3 seconds and then it says "logging off" and puts me right back where I just started. It's a "loop" function over and over again. Also, I can access the computer through my network so I know my data is still there. PLEASE HELP! This happens on safe mode too... and heard i can use the Recovery Installation, Recovery console.. but i don't really know how to work it.

or is there another way around the problem? i think it has something to do with the registry.

yes I have had this problem before, and the thread you provided had the same fix I found:

Your uninstalled one of the adware program which changed you registry value. So your xp can no longer find the right path to the userinit.exe.
So i helped him by using the Winternals ERD Commander boot cd. and changed the reg key userinit under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\ back to the right one.

Though I think I directed the regkey to explorer.exe instead of userinit.exe

Unfortunately though ERD commander is not free. You need to somehow reach your registry. I dont know maybe a repair build would help aswell (from the winxp cd). windows repair not disk repair.
