Management Console Problems (MMC)

Hi all,

Here's my problem. I cannot open Services from Administritive Tools. I get an error: -

"MMC Cannot Open File: C:\WINDOWS\System32\Services.msc

This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient rights to the file."

I can also not save anything in MMC. I get the error:
"MMC Cannot save the console".

Console mode is set to Author mode and Services.msc does exist. Has MMC become corrupt? If so can I re-install MMC? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I found the solution to your first problem on Microsofts site, while trying to find a solution to the second problem, which I am also having.
