Question Monitor Resolution Change

Hi there

I'm new around here... That means you have to bear me!

Could anyone help me in my little problem, please?

I have a Win XP Pro with SP2, AsusVP4, 8MB built-in VGA Card.

the problem is that I changed the resolution to the highest and immediately after that the monitor went black. (It's Acer Ac711, if anyone cares to know).

I've tried a lot but in vain:
... trying 2 get in safe mode then altering the settings.
... my friends did something with the ".inf" files but it didnt work either.

Please HELP.

Since you have tried safe mode, what you can try next is the "last known good configuration" option from the F8 boot menu to see if that works.

if not, find another card, pop that in, go thru the motions, your better off with an agp card as opposed to that inbuilt crap anyday.

Hi there
Soon after I posted, I tried "VGA Mode" from the F8 Menu & guess what ?
The monitor finally didn't go back. I happily adjusted the rsolution (wisely this time) & that's that.
Xanex... I truly appreciate your advice. Thnx again.
