Windows Reboots When Loading TV Tuner

I have an ATI TV WONDER VE tuner card and its been working for about a year and a half with no problems.

Recently I think at the end of January it started acting up whenever the application is open it displays the TV and works normally until I hit the record button and it will record normally for as long as it feels like then reboot or it reboots the whole computer instantly.

Then I downloaded the latest media player from ATI in an attempt to remedy the problem.

I was using the ATI software and driver that came with the card on CD the media player is version 7.9 I installed the latest device drivers from ATI and the new media player was version 9.09 I think now its even worse it will reboot before the TV even comes up .

After the system boots again windows shows the annoying send report screen and it says that the problem was caused by a graphics driver.

I update regularly do you think the new version of Direct X screwed this stuff up? I tried uninstalling Service Pack 2 but that didn't fix it either.

Didn't try downgrading Direct X though.

ATI are well known for driver problems. Downgrading DX is a pain. 9 cannot be uninstalled. Can you test the hardware in another machine??

It seems to work fine on a Windows Millennium machine.

If I can't get this card to work could you recommend a better card is the Nvidia one any good?

Try it on an xp machine then you know for sure if it is drivers. If you have a spare hard drive, reload your machine.
