can't get my computer to get into standby

I'm not sure if this is an XP problem or a hardware problem...anyway when I try to put the computer in standby it goes through all the motions and just when you think it's gonna work I get this error.

The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-key or microsoft Natural PS/2 keyboard device is preventing the machine from entering STBY. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists you may need to update this driver.

We have a Dell quiet keyboard. I've gone into the device manager, troubleshooted, tried to update the driver but it said it's up to date. I've unplugged and restarted the computer numerous times. I'm not sure what else to do???? We've never had a problem with the keyboard before.

Thanks in Advance for your help.
