Arg, Dvd plaer problems!

When I first bought this computer(new) it had a DVD player installed and I could play DVDs on InterActual or some DVD playing program with a name like that. Then I reformatted and lost everything(yeah yeah I know, that's what it's suppose to do.) I got my sound back but now I'm trying to download a free version of a DVD player because I'm not playing twice for a DVD player( I did when I bought the computer.). The problem is, I can't seem to find any free ones that are good. Does anyone know of any. If not, do you know how I could get it to play on Windows Media Player? When I try to play it on that it says: Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.
Does anyone know where I can get a free DVD decoder that works? Please help. Thankies, guys.

Hi ... Have a look at the link below, Though i'm curious as to why you can't use the one that was on your computer before the reformat ? Is your operating system preinstall ??
