Barebones system Installing old hard drive

I recently purchased a barebones system pentium 4 3.0 ghz 512 ddr ram with no hard drive.Looking to install my hard drive and cdrom,from older 750 pentium 3 processer.Can get into bios and see my old Hard drive and cd rom but wont load windows,,says windows detected a problem the last time it was shut down,,,why wont it load windows xp from my hard drive,,,????????????????????????

You've changed your motherboard.

A clean reinstallation will solve your problem.

load windows xp from tht same hard disk, thru ur old computer, and resolve any issues if u find anythin, n then try again. i also was unable 2 use my hard disk on my new computer, when i contacted microsoft they said after activation, u cant make major changes to ur computer configuration, will hav 2 re-activate. i guess u also hav 2 re-install...
