Hard Disc Boot Failure

I have a laptop with no floppy disc and my harddrive won't boot. The recovery cd repairs the boot sectors but still i can't boot. I have data I want to keep on the drive, so any ideas how i can either boot or recover the data. I can access the hard drive thru ms dos don't know how to copy any files from here as i have no floppy.
