need more space on C drive

I have a partitioned hard drive, but I have too much room on D and not enough on C...how can I move around some free space?

also, i only have 40gb total and it's just not enough...I have a sony TR3A notebook, but i'm also located in korea right now...but i'd rather not just buy an external hard drive...any recommendations?

You can't just move over the space so you would have to reformat and start over to change the partition. Also, why do you even have that small of a drive partitioned in the first place?

Not enough room on C: for what Tacon?

You can install programs on either C: or D:

But I'm located in Bangkok right now and I can do it

I remember McAffee used to do a utility which could move an installed application to another drive without having to reinstall. But, for the life of me, I can't remember what it was called

Thumbs up Repartition

Repartition with FDISK on a boot floppy (ex. Windows 98 Startup floppy) and
this time when you create your partitions, split the amount of space between each partiton evenly. (example: you have 2 partitions, set each to 50%). Then format the partitions and reinstall the Operating System.

Im sure partition magic will allow you to transfer the free space of one drive to that of another. no need to mess around with FDISK at all, which if ive said it a thousand times on this forum is not compatable with XP due to the NTFS file system, DISKPART is the relevent program you require if you choose to do that if im wrong abut partition magic.

having a drive partitioned regardless of its size as long as there is enough for the OS is always usefull if you need to format and reinstall. no need to burn data to disc, jsut fuzz it on another parition
