Windows XP install USB 2.0 Drivers on new motherboard

I just purchased a new barebones with an MSI PT800 Neo-FSR Motherboard.
Processor: Pentium 4 3.0GHz.
Windows XP SP 2 installs ok.
Able to install all motherboard drivers (sound, LAN, etc) except for USB 2.0 drivers.
Installation disc sends me to an MS Wiindows site where I find no help.
The USB ports in the PC recognize my printer and scanner USB 1.1 devices.
When I connect an external Hard Drive, I get a message to look for an USB port that has USB 2.0 capabilities.
The MSI site is no help, they send you to MS to download the drives.
I can not find the proper link in Microsoft to download the USB 2.0 drives.
Since I have an OEM version of Windows XP SP 2, Micrososft will not hel unless I pay.
So, I did the obvious thing, I went back to the barebones vendor who is checking out my system.
Is ther an alternative I could have pursued?
By the way,I read somewhere else in the forum that some one had a similar problem with a different MSI motherboard.
Thank you for any feedback.

All I can say is USB 2.0 support (ie USB2 driver) is built in with SP2 (it was actually first introduced with SP1. You shouldn't need third-party drivers for USB2 ports unless you are running the original xp without any service packs.

I believe USB 2.0 support was available since Windows 2000 SP2 and I'm pretty sure that Windows XP SP1 has the support for it too....

Here is the link from MSI site for your motherboard USB2.0 Driver.

It might also be the wiring weren't set correct , I have an Antec case which I found out later that the wiring weren't set correct on my front panel , though the rear ones were okay , just not the front panel ones weren't, it didn't match up correct with my motherboard , I had Antec send me a new front panel , which they did free of charge ...
