Unhappy Windows XP Shutdown

Hey everyone,

My computer is having problems shutting down. It says all the dialog messages (saving settings, etc) then it just goes to the normal blue windows desktop screen (not the BSOD). I then wait for about an hour but my computer doesn't shut down. I have read in countless forums about shutdown errors, I have tried everything they have said, but nothing has helped. Please help!

Thanks,
Astragoth.

Might be a long shot but try to defrag your hard drive.

Windows XP shutdown issues mostly center around a very few issues, especially legacy hardware and software compatibility issues.

May be you can find a solution at
