IE6 Problem with Second User

Using WinXP-Pro

Did a clean install on a formatted "c" drive and set-up two user accounts - my own and my wife's.

Of course all the final set-up was done whilst logged into my account but i seem to remember the second account also did not cause me problem at that time. What i have now is an IE issue on my wife's account that prevents her getting to Hotmail and her corporate Webmail.

When i click "Hotmail" nothing happens although when i go to the Task Manager i can see a second Internet Explorer task under the "Applications" tab but it's just not there even on the task bar. I cannot see a problem with the security settings since i did not even make changes to my own account set-up.

Also some buttoms on Yahoo website such as "Search" do not do anything.

I had a similar problem before but it was on a non-clean installation and the only solution was for one account to use IE and the other Mozilla. I don't want this again and i thought the clean installation with two accounts from the beginning would work..... but not

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Is your wife's account an administrator account? If not, try changing it.

Check the IEsecurity/firewall/pop-up/virus checker settings under your wife's account are the same as yours.

My wife's account is already set to Administrator. I can access all her e-mails etc. from my account.

I would believe all the settings are the same but it's a bit tedious to check. I'll check the IE security settings again. The firewall/pop-up/virus is all the same on the two accounts.

Basically all the security settings are the same.

Problem is most evident with Yahoo! website where the <Search> button does not work and in MSN where <Hotmail> <Messenger> buttons don't work but i can sign in and change Passport details.

Her corporate secure webmail doesn't load yet i can get the Username / Password pop-up (as ftp) and enter successfully.

In all cases if i <Open in new Window> it appears in the Task Manager but not in the Task Bar.

All IE / Java / Windows updates have been done. I'm using the XP firewall behind a Linksys Wireless Router and AVG virus scan.
