Need help on Dual Boot WinXp & Win98

I have dual boot winXP & win98 on different hard drives on my pc. win 98 is on my drive c: & winxp on my drive d:

Now i have a problem with win98 and i need to reinstall it, but since you need to install win98 1st to enable the dual boot on winxp, how can I dual boot winxp & win98 without having to reinstall winxp too?

please help me..

Your Windows XP installation must boot up!!!
Find in your active drive boot.ini file. Open it and add the line
C:\Windows="Windows 98 SE"

Now your Boot.ini must look something like this:

timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
C:\Windows="Windows 98 SE"
