Question deleting old user files

hello, i've recently reformatted my cpu.
when i installed xp pro again, i set the computer name as the name i wanted for my user name. so to remedy this, i changed the computer name in the system folder and made a new user account. i've deleted the old user name but am now having trouble getting rid of some of the files associated with it.

the folder C:\documents and settings\oldusername and all the subfolders still exist and i can't delete them. it gives me the error

cannot delete userdata: access is denied
make sure your disk is not full (which it isn't) or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

i've tried loggin on as administrator. to add to my confusion, i'm sure the old user name isn't there because it's not in the administrative tools or anything.

is there any way i can get rid of the pesky extra folders and files?

Delete the user. Open computer management and select the users tab. Now just delete the user/s you do not want.

i've already done that, the only users in the computer management user folder is the one i want (plus administrator). The only record i can find of the user actually existing is the folders that i can't delete

Have you tried to type
Press Start-->Run and type
Code:
Control keymgr.dll
And remove the users that way?
Can you login as the user?

OK, do you have a virus scanner?
Scan that area. See if you can use a secure delete program. If nither of those programs work I have no clue unless you try to delete the user key out of the registry. Even viewing in regedit it might not show do to the fact it does not show in CM. Hard to say :|. If this helps none I am sorry but I have no futher ideas.
