Programs not found in Currently found Programs List After Reinstall

This is quite weird...

I reinstalled windows but I didn't change the current file system. I managed to keep all my stuff (files and programs) and I can got to Program Files through the C Drive and access them (Mozilla Firefox for example, which is what I'm using now). But when I go to the Add/Remove Programs list in the Control Panel. These programs do not show up, nor do they show up in the Start Menu or desktop like they were before I reinstalled windows.


Can anyone tell me what is going on?

When you install a program, Windows reghisters all the details i.e., location, associations, etc. However, if you reinstall windows all this information is lost.

That's why you can access your data files (docs, pics etc), but the program information Windows needs is gone.

You will need to reinstall your programs again.
