Restore Disk?
When i first got my computer a couple of days ago and started it for the first time, i got a message saying that i should create a restore disk of something, but i didn't have a disk to use so i kept pressing 'remind me later' when ever i saw it, but now that i'v got a disk to use the message doesn't come up any more, is there a way i can get it back?

Re-Enabling System Restore
One of the tips that was widely circulated on the net when XP Professional was first released involved disabling System Restore via Group Policy Editor. It certainly works, but a problem arises if you want to re-enable System Restore at a later date. There is no option to re-enable it again. To do so:
Start the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc)
Navigate to Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/System Restore
Set Turn off System Restore and Turn off Configuration to Disable
Right click on My Computer and Select Manage
Navigate to Services and Applications/Services
Navigate to System Restore Service and double click
On the General tab set [Startup Type] to Automatic using the drop down list
Click the Start button to start the service
Close the Computer Management console
Return to System Restore in Group Policy Editor and configure both to Not Configured
Close Group Policy Editor and reboot the system.
After the reboot is complete, right click My Computer, select Properties and the tab for System Restore will have been restored. Configure it to your individual needs and satisfaction.

I'm a complete beginner so i'm a bit confused, how do start the group policy editor (gpedit.msc)?

Edit: Saw that you have an eMachine after I posted this. I'll leave the references to Compaq and HP in case somebody else with the same problem reads this thread>
If you have a Compaq, HP or eMachine, making those restore/recovery disks will require more than one CD. HP, as I recall, requires 6 blank CDs, eMachine requires 4 CDs or 1 DVD (if you have the model with the DVD burner) and Compaq is similar to HP (since they're owned by the same company).
Look on the Start Menu for an entry for Recovery CD Creator or something similar. (Sorry, can't remember exactly what each brand calls its software)
Once you find it on the Start Menu, click on it to start it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Exactly how
Introduction to Recovery Media Creator
The program you'll be using to burn a backup copy of the recovery media is called "Recovery Media Creator" and it appears every time the computer starts up until the first set of Recovery CDs are successfully created. If the burn fails, the program will allow the customer to try burning again.
There are three places you can find this program:
In the center of the screen when Windows starts up.
This application runs with Windows like a TSR at startup and can be found in MSCONFIG as "Remind XP". The path to this executable is "C:\WINDOWS\Creator\Remind_XP.exe", and it will allow you to run it from the command line once per boot. Once the program is loaded, it waits exactly one minute before appearing in the center of the screen. (see image on the right)
Clicking the button labeled "Now" brings you to a new window titled "Recovery CD/DVD Creator". (see below)
On the START menu under All Programs > System Recovery This brings you directly to the window titled "Recovery CD/DVD Creator". (see below)
If you can't find it on the START menu, you can run it manually:
Click on START
Click on Run...
Type in "C:\WINDOWS\CREATOR\CD Creator.exe" without the quotes
Click on OK
How to Burn a Backup Copy of Medialess SoftThinks
Start Recovery Media Creator
Click on Start Creation.
The next screen varies, depending on what kind of media burner drive is installed in the computer.
If the computer has a CD burner drive, in the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window, click Yes.
If the computer has a DVD burner drive, in the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window select Number of CDs required:, and then click OK.
The Recovery CD/DVD Creator lists the files to backup.
At the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window, label a blank CD-R disk as outlined, and then insert the disc into the optical drive. Click OK.
The Recovery CD/DVD Creator writes the files to the CD-R media.
The Recovery CD/DVD Creator runs a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) on the CD to verify that it burned properly.
Note: If the CD does not burn properly, a prompt to re-burn the CD displays.
The Recovery CD/DVD Creator lists the files to backup for the next CD. The process of listing the files to backup, prompting the customer to insert a blank CD-R disk, writing the files to the CD-R, and running a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) on the CD occurs for each CD in the CD set until all CDs have been successfully made. The number of CDs created varies from computer to computer.
Once all CDs in the CD set have been successfully made, in the Recovery CD/DVD Creator window click OK.
