Window's Freezes At Log On

I installed a soundcard last week (Audigy 2 Platinum), I had to disconnect my floppy drive in order to use the power supply for my soundcard (the Audigy 2 Platinum has a front panel that needs a power supply), so now I've no floppy, the spare power cable attached to the floppy power cable is powering another hard-drive by the way.

Over the weekend and error came up immediately on system start-up that my floppy had failed to initialise, so then I went into Setup and Disabled my floppy drive which I thought was fine, then just as I'm about to enter my Win XP password the system freezes, absolutly nothing happens. I have to re-boot and the same thing happens again, but after a few tries I eventually get in. If I type msconfig into Run to check what loads on system start-up an error appears saying that it's cannot find msconfig.

Would my problem be associated with my new soundcard or my floppy drive?

Any ideas?
