try this to boot!

Hi,

I think the MBR has been lost when you formated the c:. In case if you had installed the second OS separately (i.e. using the hard disk for d: only) you can boot the system by making it as the master. That can be possible.
Cheer..

Hi + Thanx for the reply

reading various articles I'm kinda figuring this is what has happened , is it possible to recreate the MBR ?

I've tried various ways of booting from the 2nd drive independantly (master i/o slave , disabling master in bios , physically removing 1st drive , etc) and none of the methods has worked

I can access the files on the 2nd drive ok , I can get the c prompt - is it possible that I can run windows from it , it used to nbe possible to type in "win" to load the windows os , is there a similar method ?

When you removed the first drive, did you change the jumper settings to Master on the second drive and plug it into the last connector on the ribbon cable?
