Norton Antivrus finds virus but won't delete

Hi all,

I awoke this morning to be greeted by my Norton Antivrus (2003) informing me that it had found a virus (Trojan.Vundo.B) so I went straight to the symantec webpage for the removal procedure.

First thing to do was to disable the System restore - no probs

Second thing to do update the the virus definitions - done no probs

Restarted the PC in safe mode (WindowsXP by the way) and selected administrator at the logon page (logon page? It's where me and the missus log on separately - don't know the official name for it - blue screen and our names right?). Run the full scan. Full scan found two infected files one that it could quarantine but the other could not be deleted - the removal procedure didn't say that this might happen!!!!

Any idea where I go from here?

Help would be very much appreciated!

just to let you know I finally got rid of this virus using the trojan.vundo.b removal tool:

However, it had to be run in safe mode.

Cheers

Mike
