Password & Java Problem

I access a website that has a password protected area but has no area for me to type a username or password as a pop up box is supposed to come up, I don't get that, I dont have a pop up killer or any other program running and I know its supposed to pop up as 97 other users are getting this. Does anyone know why the box wont come up for me? All I'm getting is a webpage telling me user is not authorized to view and the administrators have no clue why this is happening to me.

The other query is java, I cannot get bravenet chatrooms to load and this is after installing the sun java & the XP service 1 pack

This is all driving me bonkers, would sincerely appreciate if anyone had any ideas.

Some firewalls will block popups which would also cause your problems. Outpost is one of them.

I'm not running any firewalls or any other program apart from the computer itself & IE 6.0

I even tried a system restore and it done nothing. I've been using computers for over 6yrs and this is the first time I have ever had to ask for help so I'm wondering if its a setting somewhere in XP that needs changing
